L A Postcard
I taught English in high school for several years. Having highly-motivated, well-behaved students in the same institution as switched-off, discipline-problem students always intrigued me. What if I brought the two parties together? In LA Postcards the idea is to release a shark into the goldfish pond. This was my first novel for teenagers. I hope you like it.

Mosh
No one will ever convince me that the book some techno places on the screen is superior to the book I place in the imagination. Our kids deserve more than a digital soma fix. That's why Mosh is sooo wild. I mean, the arrogance of trying to replace rock'n'roll with elevator Muzak. Mosh is my Alice in cyberspace misadventure. I was intrigued by the chaos of youth culture. The mosh pit and the Net epitomise that chaos. So here's a novel where I side with the kids, using their language, surfing their culture. I'm sorry that some conservative adults find the writing inaccessible. If you've never gotten beyond Barry Manilow, I guess this one isn't for you. Uhmmm, can we still be friends?

Spooking the Cows (Shorts)
When I was fourteen I always wanted to steal my sister's diary. She had all these loser boyfriends and tried to act oh sooo cool. She was forever lying to Mum and Dad about where she was going and where she had been. She was always covering up her neck (for some strange reason). If I had her diary, I reasoned, I could blackmail her so bad. I could get out of doing the dishes! But I never found it. So I wrote it instead. And here it is, Spooking the Cows. Just make sure you keep this one well-hidden, too. Under the matress is asking for trouble. Ps... Now my sister doesn't talk to me and I'm still doing the dishes. Bummer, huh. Enjoy!

Candle Iron is one of my "Ankoor" books, a companion (though not a sequel) to Shadowdancers and Amy Amaryllis. It's one of my favourites of my own titles and has its own page at http://www.sallyodgers.com/candleiron.htm

Aurora
This one was fun to write; it had its beginning when I was watching the Southern Aurora with my husband. Could the atmospherics interfere with a UFO's guidance system? Maybe. What would happen then? I wrote a book to find out.

The Case of the Disappearing Dog

This one combines two of my favourite themes; dogs and time-travel. Oh, and it has a genius heroine, only the second one I've ever created.
