It's not the same as the movies, much more complicated.

For those who love Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs may just take her place in your hearts! I read this some time ago and was hooked. Dr Temperance Brennan is a forensic anthropologist on the track of a crazed killer. All I can say is, read it and decide for yourself whether Reichs is set to outdo Cornwall!

This is a terrific book, & I liked it better than the Regeneration trilogy, whatever the critics say. I like the way it acknowledges the inevitability that professionals will be haunted by some cases...
In this case, the psychologist is up against someone as clever as he is, someone keen to be revenged. Danny Miller was ten when he murdered old Lizzie, and almost charmed his way out of the trial. Tom Seymour testified that Miller knew what he was doing & so Danny spent 10 years in a secure institution, rather like a grammar school, & run by a well-meaning but naive old public school boy. Danny charms his way through the school, inflicting casualties on the way as people bend the rules for him, but he does have to complete the last part of his sentence in gaol.
Released, Danny feels compelled to relive the murder, and Tom Seymour takes on his case...
The plot is complex, and it's hard to tell who's telling lies, but it's a compelling story.
Barker clearly believes that some people are just evil!

Half Past Dead

This is the author's first book. Set in Melbourne & Sydney, Australia, the story revolves around Ronnie, who lets herself go one night, and ends up involved in murder and mystery.
I found the writing real-life and easy to relate to, not over the top or dramatised. Well done Jane Clifton.
Easy light reading; recommended.

Extreme: My Autobiography

If there is one autobiography to read it has to be Sharons. I just finished reading it and it was worth every cent. She opens up her whole life for the reader, the turmoils and the triumphs laid bare. I thought I know alot about this celebrity but she offers so much information about herself and her family that it feels like you know her. A very honest and well written Book! 10/10

I really loved this book and have reread it twice.
Anyone who has an interest in the plight of the Cambodian people and a taste for Indochina will find this a tragic and unforgettable book.
Fantastic memoir of an English journalist based in Vietnam and Cambodia before and during the Vietnam war. Very romantic and nostalgic, one man's very personal recollections of the destruction of Cambodia.
Read it!!!

I actually found this book didn't live up to the hype around it. It was an interesting, easy to read, book, and did provoke some thought about the Holy Grail, but it is not a book I would recommend to anyone.
