Aaron Dembski-Bowden has written 3 books across 1 series. Start with The Horus Heresy.

Aaron Dembski-Bowden is a British novelist who came to fiction from the videogame and tabletop-RPG industries before becoming one of Black Library's most acclaimed Warhammer 40,000 writers. He is best known for the Night Lords trilogy (Soul Hunter, Blood Reaver, Void Stalker), which follows the traitor Space Marine Talos with a noir, morally tangled voice unusual for the setting, and for The First Heretic, his New York Times-bestselling contribution to the Horus Heresy that dramatizes the Word Bearers' fall into Chaos and is widely regarded as one of the series' finest entries. He has also written the Grey Knights novel The Emperor's Gift and numerous other 40K short stories and audio dramas. A new reader could start with either Soul Hunter for a self-contained antihero story or The First Heretic for the Horus Heresy's darkest turning point; both showcase his knack for giving monstrous characters real interiority without softening the horror of what they do. He's prized among fans for prose that's leaner and more character-driven than much of the wider Black Library catalogue, and for tackling faith, corruption and loyalty as genuine themes rather than backdrop. There is no film or TV adaptation of his work; his reputation rests entirely on the printed page.
