B. A. Paris is a British author of psychological thrillers who spent much of her adult life in France before turning to writing fiction. Her debut novel, Behind Closed Doors (2016), a suspense story about a seemingly perfect marriage concealing a controlling and abusive husband, became a major international bestseller and established her within the wave of domestic psychological suspense that also produced writers like Clare Mackintosh and Paula Hawkins.

Paris followed her debut with further tightly plotted domestic thrillers, including The Breakdown, Bring Me Back, The Therapist, and The Prisoner, typically built around unreliable narration, isolated or vulnerable protagonists, and slow-building dread rather than overt violence. Her novels frequently explore coercive control, gaslighting, and the gap between a couple's public appearance and private reality, themes that recur across her body of work.

Paris joined Sophie Hannah, Clare Mackintosh, and Holly Brown as a contributing author on The Understudy, a collaborative thriller written jointly by the four authors. She continues to write and publish psychological suspense novels, and her books have been translated into numerous languages and sold widely across international markets since her debut's breakout success.
