Brendan Reichs

Brendan Reichs has written 9 books across 1 series. Start with Virals.

Brendan Reichs was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned a B.A. in History from Wake Forest University and a law degree from George Washington University School of Law, and practiced litigation for three years before leaving law to write fiction full-time.

His first fiction project was a family collaboration: the six-book Virals young-adult series, co-written with his mother, forensic anthropologist and bestselling novelist Kathy Reichs. Beginning with Virals (2010) and running through Seizure, Code, Exposure, Terminal, and Trace Evidence, the series follows teenager Tory Brennan -- niece of Kathy Reichs' adult character Temperance Brennan -- after an accident leaves her and her friends with wolf-like enhanced senses.

Reichs then launched a solo YA career with Nemesis, a New York Times bestseller that drew starred reviews, followed by Genesis (2018) and Chrysalis (2019) to complete the trilogy -- a survival thriller built around teenagers who wake up with no memory of how they died and came back to life. He also co-writes the middle-grade Darkdeep series with Ally Condie, pitched as a cross between The Goonies and Stranger Things, including The Beast and The Torchbearers.

Reichs still lives in Charlotte with his family and serves on the executive boards of the YALLFEST and YALLWEST young-adult literary festivals.
