Brian Herbert has written 1 book.

Brian Herbert is an American author, the son of Frank Herbert, who has continued and expanded the Dune saga since his father's death in 1986, primarily in collaboration with co-author Kevin J. Anderson. Working from notes, outlines, and material left behind by his father, Brian Herbert and Anderson have written numerous prequel and sequel novels set within the Dune universe, including the Prelude to Dune trilogy, the Legends of Dune trilogy, and direct sequels continuing the story from where Frank Herbert's original six novels left off. Before continuing his father's saga, Brian Herbert had an independent writing career across other genres and also wrote Dreamer of Dune, a biography of his father exploring his life and the creation of the original novel. His work extending Dune has been commercially successful, bringing the franchise to new readers and expanding its internal chronology across thousands of years, though it has also drawn ongoing debate among longtime fans over its fidelity to the tone of the original novels. Herbert continues to write within the Dune universe, remaining the primary steward of his father's literary legacy.
