Christopher Rice

Christopher Rice has written 2 books across 1 series. Start with Ramses the Damned.

Christopher Rice is an American author, the son of gothic horror novelist Anne Rice, who has built his own career across thriller, horror, and romance fiction before taking over co-writing duties on his mother's Ramses the Damned series following its early volumes. Ramses the Damned follows an immortal ancient Egyptian pharaoh awakened into the modern world, extending the same gothic sensibility Anne Rice established across the Vampire Chronicles and Lives of the Mayfair Witches into a new mythology built around Egyptian rather than vampiric or witch-based immortality. Before joining his mother's series, Christopher Rice had already established an independent literary career, publishing thrillers and later moving into paranormal romance under a separate pen name, and winning recognition including a Lambda Literary Award for his fiction addressing LGBTQ themes. Continuing Ramses the Damned after his mother's death in December 2021, he has worked to carry the series forward while honoring the tone she established, giving him one of the more direct literary inheritances in contemporary genre fiction — not merely writing in a parent's tradition, but formally continuing a series she began. Rice remains an active author across both his own original fiction and the ongoing Ramses the Damned books.
