Clare Broyles has written 5 books across 1 series. Start with Molly Murphy.
Clare Broyles is an American author who co-writes Rhys Bowen's long-running Molly Murphy Mysteries, a historical cozy mystery series following an Irish immigrant turned New York private investigator through the turn-of-the-century Gilded Age and into the early twentieth century. Broyles joined as co-author starting with Wild Irish Rose in 2022, continuing the series after Bowen, who remains the credited lead author throughout, scaled back her solo output on the long-running line. Under the joint byline, the series has carried Molly's story forward into her life as a settled wife, mother, and working detective navigating an era hurtling toward women's suffrage and the First World War. Broyles' contribution has kept one of historical cozy mystery's most enduring series in active production, with new installments, including Vanished in the Crowd in 2026 and a further novel, A Whiff of Scandal, scheduled for March 2027, continuing to appear on a regular schedule. Readers new to the series should still start from the beginning with Murphy's Law, since Molly's circumstances change permanently from book to book regardless of which author is credited. There is no film or television adaptation of the series to date. Broyles continues to co-write the series alongside Bowen.
