Dacre Stoker

Dacre Stoker is a Canadian-American author and the great-grand-nephew of Bram Stoker, the great-grandson of Bram's brother George. A former Olympic-level pentathlete and coach, he turned to writing partly as steward of his ancestor's legacy, co-authoring Dracula the Un-Dead (2009), an authorised sequel to Dracula written with Ian Holt using Bram Stoker's own notes, and later editing The Lost Journal of Bram Stoker: The Dublin Years (2012). In this catalogue he appears as co-author, with J.D. Barker, of Dracul (2018) -- not a sequel but a prequel, drawn from Bram Stoker's unpublished notes and journals, imagining the young Bram's own real brush with the vampire that inspired his novel. The book grew out of Barker's earlier novel Forsaken, which had caught the attention of Bram Stoker's descendants and led directly to the collaboration.
