Guy Haley

Guy Haley is an English writer of speculative fiction, born in Halifax, Yorkshire in 1973. Before turning to fiction full-time he worked as a magazine editor and writer for SFX, White Dwarf and Death Ray, giving him an insider's grounding in genre fandom and gaming culture. He has since published more than 50 novels and novellas, including original science fiction such as Champion of Mars and the Richards and Klein and Dreaming Cities series, but is best known as one of Black Library's most prolific Warhammer authors, with over 30 contributions to Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, including major Horus Heresy volumes and the Dark Imperium series bridging 40K's old and new eras. Readers coming from the tabletop game's more recent Indomitus-era storyline should start with Dark Imperium; those interested in his standalone science fiction should try Champion of Mars. Haley's dual background as both journalist and novelist gives his prose an unusually brisk, readable quality even across very long, densely plotted series. There is no screen adaptation of his fiction; his reputation is built across the wider science fiction press and the Black Library catalogue.
