J. R. Rain

J. R. Rain has written 3 books across 1 series. Start with Aladdin.

J. R. Rain is an American author of self-published and independently pursued urban fantasy and paranormal mystery, credited with more than fifty novels across several long-running series. His signature creation is Vampire for Hire (also published under the character's name, Samantha Moon), following a suburban mother turned federal agent who is attacked and transformed into a vampire, then has to rebuild a double life as parent and investigator while concealing what she has become; the series expanded into multiple spin-off strands, including Samantha Moon Origins and Samantha Moon Case Files. He also writes the private-investigator Jim Knighthorse series and has collaborated widely with other independent genre authors, building a career largely outside traditional publishing that found a substantial readership through ebooks. In this catalogue, Rain is credited as a co-author on three fantasy novels alongside Piers Anthony, part of the prolific Xanth creator's practice of working with collaborators on later series entries. Readers who enjoy fast-paced, voice-driven genre fiction with a light, wisecracking tone should look to Rain's own Vampire for Hire books as the best entry point into his solo work.
