Jack Thorne

Jack Thorne has written 1 book across 1 series. Start with Harry Potter.

Jack Thorne is a British playwright and screenwriter best known in this context as co-writer, with director John Tiffany and J. K. Rowling, of the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which continues the Harry Potter story nineteen years after the original series and has run as a major stage production in London's West End, on Broadway, and internationally since its 2016 premiere. Thorne wrote the play's script from a story he developed together with Rowling and Tiffany, translating the Wizarding World into a theatrical format built around large-scale stagecraft and illusion. Beyond Cursed Child, Thorne is a prolific and widely awarded television and film writer, known for His Dark Materials, the National Treasure and Kiri television dramas, and the film Enola Holmes, among many other credits. Readers or theatergoers coming to Cursed Child should know it is presented as canon continuation of the Harry Potter series and is best experienced, whether on stage or via the published script, after finishing the original seven novels. There is no separate prose novel version of his contribution beyond the published play script.
