Jenny Han

Jenny Han is an American young-adult author best known for two major series that both became prominent screen adaptations: To All the Boys I've Loved Before, a romantic trilogy following Lara Jean Covey after her secret love letters are accidentally mailed to their intended recipients, adapted into a hit Netflix film trilogy; and The Summer I Turned Pretty, a coming-of-age series following Belly's summers at a beach house entangled in a love triangle with two brothers, adapted into the popular Amazon Prime Video series of the same name, for which Han has served as an executive producer and writer.

Han's fiction is known for warm, nostalgic, emotionally specific writing about first love, family, and growing up, generally favoring character interiority and slow-building romantic tension over high-concept plotting. She has also co-written the Burn for Burn trilogy with Siobhan Vivian. New readers can start with either flagship series depending on taste — To All the Boys for a lighter, more comedic romance, or The Summer I Turned Pretty for a longer, more bittersweet coming-of-age arc — since the two are unconnected.
