M.J. Rose

M. J. Rose is an American novelist known for blending historical mystery with reincarnation and past-life themes, most prominently in the Reincarnationist series, which follows characters investigating mysteries that reach back into earlier lives and historical periods, beginning with The Reincarnationist (2007). Within that world she also created the recurring character Malachai Samuels, a reincarnation researcher who has crossed over into collaborative fiction with other novelists, including a co-written novella pairing him with Lisa Gardner's D.D. Warren, The Laughing Buddha (2015), released as a standalone e-short and collected in the multi-author anthology Face Off (2014). Beyond her fiction, Rose was an early and influential figure in online book marketing: she co-founded AuthorBuzz, one of the first dedicated book-promotion services built around the internet and email marketing rather than traditional print advertising, and she has been recognized within the publishing industry as a pioneer of digital-era author promotion. She also helped found International Thriller Writers' literary-fiction and book-club outreach efforts.
