Marc Cameron

Marc Cameron is an American thriller writer whose fiction runs on nearly thirty years of real law-enforcement experience. Born in Texas in 1961, he joined the U.S. Marshals Service in 1991, specialized in dignitary protection, and rose to chief of the Alaska district before retiring in 2011 to write full-time, a background that shows up constantly in his work, down to a second-degree black belt in jujitsu and certification as a law-enforcement scuba diver and man-tracker. Cameron writes two series of his own: Jericho Quinn, an Air Force OSI agent turned counterterrorism operative introduced in 2011, and Arliss Cutter, a deputy U.S. marshal working the Alaska bush. Since 2017 he has also been one of the principal continuation authors for Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan universe, writing seven novels that move between President Jack Ryan's storylines and other characters in the Ryanverse, from Power and Empire (2017) through Command and Control (2023), bringing the same procedural, technically grounded authenticity to Clancy's world that defines his own series. Readers coming to Cameron through Jack Ryan should know his novels follow directly from the ones before them in publication order; those wanting his own original voice should start with Jericho Quinn's debut instead. An avid motorcyclist, Cameron gives many of his characters the same passion.
