Peter de Jonge

Peter de Jonge is an American novelist and journalist who partnered with James Patterson as a co-author on several early collaborative thrillers, including Miracle on the 17th Green, a golf-centered novel about a man whose late-life mastery of the sport upends his family life, and The Beach House, a mystery thriller set in the Hamptons. De Jonge's partnership with Patterson was among the earlier examples of Patterson's now-extensive co-authorship model, predating the larger roster of collaborators he would go on to work with across many series. Before his novels with Patterson, de Jonge worked as a journalist, including contributions to major publications, and he has continued to write both journalism and his own solo fiction alongside his collaborative work. His novels with Patterson combined character-driven domestic drama with thriller plotting, a slightly different register from some of Patterson's more purely procedural collaborations. De Jonge remains known primarily through these Patterson collaborations, which helped popularize the commercial co-authorship format that later expanded significantly across Patterson's publishing career.
