Pierce Brown

Pierce Brown has written 7 books across 1 series. Start with Red Rising.

Pierce Brown is an American science fiction author best known for the Red Rising saga, a class-war epic set in a brutally stratified solar-system society where a subjugated "Red" miner named Darrow infiltrates the ruling "Gold" elite to bring the system down from within. Brown wrote six unpublished novels and worked jobs ranging from social media management to a U.S. Senate campaign before Red Rising (2014) broke through, quickly followed by Golden Son (2015) and Morning Star (2016) to complete the original trilogy to strong critical acclaim and multiple Goodreads Choice Awards. Brown continued the story with a second trilogy — Iron Gold (2018), Dark Age (2019), and Light Bringer (2023) — following the same characters years later into a messier, morally greyer war than the first trilogy's clearer uprising. A seventh and final novel, Red God, has been confirmed by Brown as the saga's ending point, though no release date has been announced yet. New readers should start at the very beginning with Red Rising itself; the series rewards reading in strict publication order, since its scope and stakes escalate dramatically across both trilogies. Brown continues to work on Red God alongside other projects.
