R.M. Virtues

R.M. Virtues is an Afro-Native, Two-Spirit American author of romance fiction steeped in mythology, fairy tales, and folklore, based in Nevada on unceded Nuwuvi land. Their work includes the Gods of Hunger series, featuring titles such as Drag Me Up and the companion collection Songs of Khaos, along with contributions to shared romance anthologies such as Wicked Pursuit and Divine Intervention, co-published alongside other romance authors exploring dark, myth-infused love stories. Virtues' fiction draws heavily on folkloric and mythological source material, reworking traditional tales and gods into contemporary romance and dark fantasy narratives centered on marginalized and queer characters. Outside of writing, Virtues has described an interest in horror films, role-playing games, and deep research into folklore traditions that feeds directly into the worldbuilding of their fiction. Active on social media and within the romance-writing community, Virtues continues to publish across shared-world anthologies and their own series, contributing a distinct, folklore-driven voice to contemporary romance and villain-centered fantasy fiction.
