Siobhan Vivian

Siobhan Vivian has written 3 books across 1 series. Start with Burn for Burn.

Siobhan Vivian is an American young-adult author who co-wrote the Burn for Burn trilogy with Jenny Han, following three girls on Jar Island who each carry a private, escalating grievance against someone who has wronged them and fall in together, almost by accident, to plot a shared campaign of revenge. Han and Vivian split the narration between the three girls — Lillia, Kat, and Mary — in alternating first person, letting the series build sympathy for a form of vigilante justice that gradually curdles as the girls' pranks escalate beyond what any of them originally intended. Outside her collaboration with Han, Vivian has written a range of solo YA novels exploring adolescent social dynamics and identity, including The List, which follows the fallout across a high school after an anonymous list ranking the prettiest and ugliest girl in each grade is posted before homecoming, and Not in the Script. She has also worked as a writing instructor, teaching creative writing at the University of Pittsburgh. Vivian's fiction is consistently interested in the mechanics of teenage social power — reputation, rumor, and group dynamics — a focus that carries directly into the ensemble structure of Burn for Burn.
