Stacy Willingham earned a B.A. in magazine journalism from the University of Georgia and an M.F.A. in writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Before turning to fiction full-time, she worked as a copywriter and brand strategist for marketing agencies -- a background in tightly controlled, persuasive prose that shows in the claustrophobic, first-person voice of her thrillers. Her 2022 debut, A Flicker in the Dark, introduced her signature territory: narrators whose memory of their own past cannot quite be trusted, under pressure from crimes that echo earlier trauma. The novel sold more than a million copies in North America, won Strand Magazine's Best Debut Award, and established her as one of the breakout psychological-suspense writers of the decade. She followed it with All the Dangerous Things (2023), Only If You're Lucky (2024), and Forget Me Not (2025), each a standalone thriller rather than part of a continuing series. Her work has been translated into more than 30 languages. She lives in Charleston, South Carolina, with her husband and daughter.
