Stephanie Archer is a contemporary romance author who found viral success on BookTok with the Vancouver Storm series, a hockey romance line following the players, staff, and found family orbiting a fictional NHL team, with each book built around a self-contained trope, grumpy/sunshine, fake dating, single dad, forced proximity, and told with long, banter-heavy pacing and unapologetically explicit love scenes. She self-published the series before Piatkus, an imprint of Little, Brown UK, picked it up for wide trade paperback release, a trajectory shared by several other breakout indie romance hits of the same period.
