Susan Mallery is a number-one New York Times bestselling American romance and women's-fiction author who has published steadily since her debut in 1992. Born in 1970 and holding an MA from Seton Hill University, she built an enormous backlist across category romance and single-title fiction before her 2008 novel Accidentally Yours became her first New York Times bestseller. She went on to describe her later work as "Romance-Plus," blending traditional romance with the broader emotional scope of women's fiction, and several of her books -- including Thrill Me (2015) -- reached number one on the New York Times list.
Mallery is best known for a run of interlinked small-town series, most prominently Fool's Gold, along with Blackberry Island, Mischief Bay, Happily Inc, and Wishing Tree, each set in its own fictional community and built from loosely connected trilogies or groups of books rather than one continuous plotline. Her catalogue is exceptionally large -- more than a hundred titles across series and standalones -- so this catalogue prioritises her flagship Fool's Gold series; her other series and extensive standalone backlist are deferred for future curation rather than covered exhaustively. She lives in Washington state with her husband and pets, and has served on the board of Seattle Humane.
