Summer People, published in 2003 at 345 pages, follows Nantucket Nights and precedes The Blue Bistro in Hilderbrand's largely standalone bibliography. As with nearly all of her novels, it's a self-contained story of family and island life set over a single Nantucket summer, sharing a setting and sensibility with her other books rather than a plot.
