About the Big Shots series

Big Shots is Tessa Bailey's celebrity-and-sports-world series, following a loosely connected circle of public figures -- a professional golfer, and others in fame-adjacent worlds -- as they fall for people caught up in their high-visibility lives. It opens with Fangirl Down, in which disgraced pro golfer Wells Whitaker, who quit the tour in a blaze of glory, shows up at the door of Josephine Doyle -- his one remaining superfan -- with a wild proposal: become his new caddy and help him salvage his career. The series is a shift toward glossier, higher-stakes settings than Bailey's small-town family sagas: paparazzi, fame management, and the pressure of a public relationship sit alongside her usual blunt banter and devoted-hero heat.

Published by Avon beginning in 2024, the series' five books (Fangirl Down, The Au Pair Affair, Dream Girl Drama, Pitcher Perfect, Catch Her If You Can) don't follow one continuous couple, but do share a loose network of famous or fame-adjacent characters who cross paths across entries; Pitcher Perfect turns to professional baseball. It's Bailey's most current, actively-releasing series, with Catch Her If You Can arriving in January 2026 as its most recent installment.
