Aletheia Preston

Aletheia Preston is an American novelist and former attorney who co-authors the Cash & Colcord thriller series with her father, bestselling author Douglas Preston, beginning with the second entry in the series, Paradox. The series follows CBI Agent Frankie Cash and Eagle County Sheriff Jim Colcord investigating crimes in a Colorado mountain setting, and Aletheia Preston joined as a full co-author after the series had already been established by her father with earlier collaborator Lincoln Child in a related body of work. Originally from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Preston worked as a prosecutor in San Francisco before moving into private practice as a trial attorney, a legal career that gave her direct experience with criminal investigation and courtroom procedure before she turned to fiction writing. A longtime reader of both thriller and science fiction, she had written and read extensively in both genres privately before formally co-authoring with her father.
