Chris Wraight

Chris Wraight is a British author and former teacher who has become one of Black Library's leading Warhammer 40,000 novelists. Since his debut novel in 2008, he has built a substantial body of work centered on the Space Wolves — including Blood of Asaheim, Stormcaller and The Helwinter Gate — and on the Adeptus Custodes-focused Watchers of the Throne and Vaults of Terra series set on a besieged Terra. He has also written major Horus Heresy volumes, including Scars and The Path of Heaven, and Primarch novels covering Leman Russ and Jaghatai Khan. Readers wanting a strong entry point into his work should start with Blood of Asaheim for classic Space Wolves military science fiction, or Watchers of the Throne for a more claustrophobic, political take on the Imperium's final defenses. Wraight's prose is often singled out among Black Library fans for its restraint and psychological interiority, qualities that carry through whether he's writing brawling Space Wolves or the paranoid intrigue surrounding the Golden Throne.
