David Annandale is a Canadian author of fantasy, science fiction and horror, and a Senior Instructor in English, Theatre, Film and Media at the University of Manitoba, where he specializes in genre film and video games. Alongside his academic career he has written more than 40 books, including extensive contributions to the Horus Heresy, Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar lines for Black Library, plus Warhammer Horror titles that lean into his interest in the genre. For Aconyte Books he has also written in the Arkham Horror and Legend of the Five Rings universes and a trilogy of Marvel's Doctor Doom novels. Outside tie-in fiction he is the author of the horror novel Gethsemane Hall and the Jen Blaylock thriller series, and he co-hosts the Hugo-nominated genre podcast The Skiffy and Fanty Show. A reader coming to him through Warhammer should look for his Horus Heresy contributions or his dedicated Warhammer Horror fiction, which showcases his academic grounding in horror as a genre. There's no screen adaptation of his fiction; he's best known within the Black Library and small-press horror communities and to listeners of his long-running podcast work.
