George Galdorisi

George Galdorisi spent thirty years as a U.S. Navy career naval aviator, including four command assignments and five years leading the administrative operations of a carrier strike group. He also led the U.S. delegation for military-to-military talks with the People's Liberation Army (Navy), giving his later fiction a grounding in real defense and international-relations experience that few thriller writers can match. He currently serves as Director of Strategic Assessments and Technical Futures at the Navy's Command and Control Center of Excellence in San Diego.

He began publishing in 1978 and has since written seventeen books along with more than four hundred articles for national and international media. His nonfiction book Act of Valor, adapted from the military film of the same name, became a New York Times bestseller, and The Kissing Sailor identified the sailor and nurse in the iconic V-J Day Times Square photograph.

In fiction, Galdorisi partnered with St. Martin's Press to revive Tom Clancy's Op-Center after Jeff Rovin's long solo run, co-writing Out of the Ashes (2014) and Into the Fire (2015) with fellow Navy veteran Dick Couch, then continuing the series alone with Scorched Earth (2016) and, with Rovin returning as co-writer, Dark Zone (2017). All three of his reboot-era entries hit bestseller lists at the New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly. He has received the Navy League's Alfred Thayer Mahan Award for his writing.
