About the Archer and Bennett series
Sydney homicide detectives Frank Bennett and his partner Eden Archer -- who is secretly a serial killer working her own moral code, raised by an adoptive father who was a killer himself -- anchor Candice Fox's debut trilogy. Hades (2014) introduces the pair through Bennett's unease at his new partner's methods while they hunt a killer dumping bodies in Sydney Harbour; Eden (2014) digs into Eden's own murderous double life, and Fall (2015) closes out the arc.
The trilogy won Fox the Ned Kelly Award for Best First Novel with Hades in 2014 and again for Eden in 2015 -- an unprecedented back-to-back win that established her as one of Australian crime fiction's most distinctive voices, mixing morally compromised protagonists with a genuinely unsettling sense of menace. It predates her later Crimson Lake trilogy and her run of James Patterson collaborations (Detective Harriet Blue, Bill Robinson, 2 Sisters Detective Agency).
