About the David Trevellyan series

Before he became his brother Lee Child's co-writer on Jack Reacher (publishing as Andrew Child), Andrew Grant wrote three thrillers under his own name featuring David Trevellyan, a Royal Navy intelligence officer with a license to operate well outside conventional rules. Even (2009) drops Trevellyan into a New York murder investigation that threatens to expose his covert status; Die Twice (2010) and More Harm Than Good (2012) continue his globe-trotting missions. The influence on Grant's later Reacher work is visible in miniature here: a resourceful, morally flexible operative, terse first-person narration, and plots that mix espionage tradecraft with old-fashioned thriller momentum.

How to read this series

Read in publication order: Even (2009), Die Twice (2010), More Harm Than Good (2012). Each is largely self-contained, though Trevellyan's Naval Intelligence backstory develops across the three books.
