About the Cab Bolton series

Cab Bolton is an FBI profiler with a complicated family history and a habit of getting pulled into cases that hit uncomfortably close to home. Brian Freeman introduced the character in The Bone House (2011), set on Wisconsin's Door County peninsula, where Cab investigates the decades-old disappearance of a young woman that connects directly to his own past; Season of Fear (2014) sends him after a killer replicating a string of unsolved murders around a Mississippi River town.

The series was originally conceived as a standalone before reader demand brought Cab back for a second book, and he later crosses paths with Freeman's flagship detective in the Jonathan Stride novel Alter Ego (2018), which functions as an unofficial continuation of Cab's story within that separate series.
