The Donovan Legacy follows the Donovan cousins — Morgana, Sebastian, Anastasia, and Liam — descendants of a witch, each of whom has inherited a different magical gift they must learn to accept alongside falling in love. Captivated pairs Morgana, a witch confident in her own powers, with skeptical author Nash Kirkland, who arrives in her small town to research local folklore and finds more magic than he bargained for. Entranced follows her brother Sebastian, whose telepathic and healing gifts complicate his romance with a woman running from a dangerous past. Charmed turns to their sister Anastasia, a shopkeeper whose gift draws the attention of a local police detective investigating strange occurrences in town. Enchanted, published years after the original trilogy, completes the quartet with cousin Liam Donovan, the last of the family to accept his own inherited magic, and the woman who helps him embrace it.

The original three siblings' books were released together as a tight, same-year trilogy; Enchanted arrived nearly a decade later as a fourth book extending the family to a cousin, giving the Donovan Legacy the shape of a trilogy with a delayed coda rather than four books conceived as one set.

Read the original trilogy in publication order — Captivated, Entranced, Charmed — since the three Donovan siblings and their small town's growing awareness of the family's magic build gradually across the books.
