About The Dark Elements

The Dark Elements follows Layla, a half-gargoyle, half-demon teenager whose kiss can literally kill, as she navigates high school, an increasingly dangerous supernatural conflict between gargoyles and demons, and her feelings for both her gargoyle best friend Zayne and a reckless demon prince, Roth. It's a love triangle built into the premise rather than around it — Layla's demon side makes her kiss lethal to full-blooded gargoyles, forcing an unusually literal version of forbidden romance.

Published between 2013 and 2015, the series comprises three novels plus a connecting novella, and later continues in the spin-off trilogy The Harbinger, following a new generation.
