About The Malediction Trilogy
The Malediction Trilogy is Danielle L. Jensen's debut, a young-adult fantasy romance set in a world where trolls rule an underground kingdom and periodically demand human girls as brides to keep their bloodlines from dying out. Cecile, a talented young singer, is chosen as the intended bride of the troll king's son Tristan — a political marriage neither of them wants — and the two must navigate a court thick with betrayal and dark magic while an unlikely, wary trust grows between them. Told in alternating first-person chapters from Cecile and Tristan, the trilogy builds toward a rebellion against the increasingly monstrous troll king.
Jensen self-published Stolen Songbird in 2013 before Strange Chemistry/Angry Robot picked it up for wide release in 2014; the trilogy concluded with Warrior Witch in 2016, and a prequel novella, The Broken Ones, followed in 2017.
