Where Shatter Me leaned into feverish first-person interiority, This Woven Kingdom trades that for closer-to-traditional epic-fantasy plotting — prophecy, succession crises, and a widening cast of court factions — while keeping Mafi's interest in characters buckling under obligations they never chose. The series has grown from an originally announced trilogy into a longer run as the political and magical stakes expanded book by book.

How to read this series

Read in publication order: This Woven Kingdom, These Infinite Threads, All This Twisted Glory, Every Spiral of Fate. The story is continuous and tightly serialized — each book picks up close to where the last left off — so there's no alternate reading order to consider. The series was originally announced as a trilogy but has grown to at least five books; a fifth and reportedly final volume is in progress but was pushed back from its original fall 2026 target to spring 2027 and remains untitled as of this writing.
