The Goosebumps Most Wanted series by R. L. Stine has 10 books and is best read in publication order, starting with Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (2012).
Start here: Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (2012) — then read straight through in publication order.

The order the books were released — the default way to read the series.
Goosebumps Most Wanted takes the brand's most popular recurring monsters -- Slappy the dummy, Dr. Maniac, the lawn gnomes, Frankenstein's creations, the Creature Teacher -- and gives each one a wanted-poster spotlight book, as if the series were running down its own rogues' gallery one villain at a time. Where the original Goosebumps mostly introduced a new threat each time, Most Wanted leans into nostalgia: longtime readers get deeper, meaner return engagements with monsters they already know, now bent on schemes bigger than a single unlucky kid's bad week.
Each book still stands alone with its own protagonist and plot, so no prior familiarity with the monster's earlier appearance is required, but the callbacks (Son of Slappy escalating the living-dummy mythology, Creature Teacher: The Final Exam bringing back the shapeshifting substitute) reward readers who've been through the earlier series. The tone stays squarely middle-grade, but the pacing is tighter and the scares a notch more knowing than the original run, aimed at a generation of kids and parents who'd grown up on '90s Goosebumps.
Running 2012-2016, Most Wanted was the third numbered Goosebumps relaunch after Series 2000 and HorrorLand, and gave way in 2017 to the current SlappyWorld line, which doubled down further on Slappy as the brand's signature villain.
Read Goosebumps Most Wanted in publication order (used here), Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (2012) through Lizard of Oz (2016) -- every book is a fully standalone story with a new protagonist, so you can also start anywhere. Several entries are villain-focused spotlights on monsters from the original 1992-97 Goosebumps series (Slappy, Dr. Maniac, the Creature Teacher), which add flavor if you already know those characters but aren't required reading.
This entry covers the complete 10-book Most Wanted line. It followed Goosebumps HorrorLand (2008-2011) and preceded Goosebumps SlappyWorld (2017-2023) in the brand's history, and is tracked here as a separate series from both.
10 books, published from Planet of the Lawn Gnomes (Oct 2012) through Lizard of Oz (Sept 2016).
Publication order, used here, though every book is a standalone story with a new protagonist, so you can start anywhere.
Each book spotlights one of the brand's established recurring monsters -- Slappy, Dr. Maniac, the Creature Teacher, Frankenstein's creations, the lawn gnomes -- rather than introducing an entirely new threat, giving longtime readers deeper return engagements with familiar villains.
It's the same R.L. Stine brand and reuses several original-series monsters, but is tracked as its own separate numbered series from the original 1992-97 run, Goosebumps Series 2000, and Goosebumps HorrorLand.
Yes, it concluded in September 2016. R.L. Stine moved on to the Goosebumps SlappyWorld relaunch in 2017.
