Emilia and her twin sister Vittoria are witches in a small Sicilian village, secretly practicing a craft their village would burn them for. Maniscalco (known for the Stalking Jack the Ripper series) leans into sensory, food-and-witchcraft-soaked Sicilian setting, a slow-burn romance with a genuinely dangerous demon love interest, and a revenge plot that keeps escalating the stakes across the trilogy as Emilia is forced deeper into Hell's court politics to get the justice she wants.
