About the Seven Deadly Sins series

In the wealthy, gossip-fueled town of Grace, California, a group of teenagers built their identities on money, status, and each other -- until a night none of them will admit to caused a fatal car accident and shattered the group for good. Robin Wasserman's seven-book series, each volume named for one of the seven deadly sins, digs into the fallout: Harper Grace, once the group's queen bee, watching her social empire collapse; Kane Geary, the charming manipulator everyone still can't quite quit; Beth Manning, the new girl pulled into a friend group built on secrets she doesn't yet understand. Told across shifting points of view, the series is soapy, sharp-edged teen melodrama that treats its title conceit literally -- each entry foregrounds a different character's defining vice as the group spirals toward the truth about what actually happened the night Kaia Sellers nearly died.

Published by Simon Pulse between 2005 and 2007, the series belongs to the same commercially successful, morally messy YA soap tradition as Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, trading werewolves and vampires for old-fashioned wealth, betrayal, and guilt. It was later adapted into the Lifetime television miniseries The Deadly Seven in 2010.
