Rosemary Edghill

Rosemary Edghill was an American author with a genre-spanning career that moved through comic writing, Regency romance, and science fiction before settling into the urban fantasy and collaborative work she became best known for. She started out publishing under her then-legal name, eluki bes shahar -- her publishers worried it read as insufficiently marketable -- before adopting "Rosemary Edghill" as a pen name that she later made her legal name in 2004. Across a long career she wrote extensively both solo and in partnership, becoming a regular collaborator with several of the era's bestselling fantasy authors, including Andre Norton, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and especially Mercedes Lackey, with whom she wrote across multiple distinct series over more than two decades.

In this catalogue, Edghill is credited on nine books split across three different Lackey collaborations: the second half of the Bedlam's Bard series (four novels following an older Eric Banyon, after Ellen Guon co-wrote the earlier books), The Waters and the Wild in the SERRAted Edge line, and all four books of the young-adult Shadow Grail quartet. She also wrote Mercedes Lackey's Obsidian Universe trilogies under the pen name James Mallory, tracked separately in this catalogue under that credited byline. Edghill died of sepsis on April 7, 2026, at age 69.
