About the End of Men series

End of Men is a dystopian romance duology co-written by Tarryn Fisher and Willow Aster, imagining a future where a plague has left men on the edge of extinction. The handful of survivors -- the "End Men" -- are sequestered by the ruling Regions and assigned to repopulation duty, their lives reduced to a single biological function. Folsom opens the series with Folsom Donahue, one of twelve End Men, going through the motions of his designated role until he meets Gwen, a woman seeking motherhood who starts uncovering how coercive the system around them really is; their forbidden connection becomes the spark for something closer to rebellion.

Jackal continues the story with Folsom's best friend Jackal Emerson -- the wildest of the End Men -- whose search for his missing friend collides with Phoenix Moyo, a dancer and thief, just as the uprising Folsom set in motion starts to bring the Regions' whole system down around them.

Fisher and Aster use the premise's stark gender-ratio inversion to explore consent, ownership, and reproductive control from an angle romance rarely takes head-on, wrapping the political stakes around a forbidden-romance core. Complete at two books, both published in 2018.
