About the Key Trilogy series

The Key Trilogy sends three modern women on a quest to recover three lost keys that can free the trapped souls of three demigoddesses, daughters of Cronus, imprisoned three thousand years earlier by a jealous god. Pitte, the enigmatic keeper of Warrior's Peak, recruits Malory Price, an art-gallery manager who's just been fired, along with a librarian and a shop owner, promising each a fortune if they succeed and warning that failure means their memories of the quest — and each other — will be wiped clean. Key of Light follows Malory herself as she falls for Pitte's brooding business partner Flynn Hennessy, a small-town newspaperman, while chasing clues hidden in riddles and old texts. Key of Knowledge turns to Dana Steele, the sharp-tongued librarian, and her combative history with Flynn's contractor brother Jordan Hawke. Key of Valor completes the trio with shop owner Zoe McCourt, a single mother, and her cautious romance with the third brother, artist Bradley Vane.

Each woman has one year and one key to find before the goddesses' one chance at freedom is lost forever, and the trilogy's central mystery — what really happened to the three imprisoned sisters, and who Pitte and the brothers really are — only fully resolves once all three keys are recovered in the final book.

How to read this series

Read in publication order — Key of Light, Key of Knowledge, Key of Valor — since the three women's search for the goddesses' keys is one continuous quest with an overarching deadline and mythology that pays off only in the third book. Each novel focuses on a different friend and a different key, but the stakes (freeing the trapped souls, unmasking Pitte and the brothers) build across all three, so reading out of order means losing the mystery's structure.
