Lark Cove moves Devney Perry's small-town Montana formula to a lakeside town built around a family construction business, the Kendricks, whose four adult children each get their own book. Tattered opens with the town's golden boy sheriff's deputy and the woman who blew back into town after leaving her fiance at the altar years earlier, setting up a series built on second chances, long-buried history, and the particular tension of falling for someone the whole town already has an opinion about.

Across Tattered, Timid, and Tragic, Perry works through the three Kendrick siblings' romances in quick succession (all released within the same year), each pairing a grounded, hardworking hero or heroine with a partner carrying real emotional baggage: a controlling ex, a family tragedy, a reputation they can't outrun. Tinsel adds a holiday-set fourth entry the following year, and Timeless, released three years later as something of a coda, revisits the family with an unexpected age-gap, billionaire-adjacent romance that closes out the series on a different note than where it started.

The appeal is the same small-town, found-family warmth that built Perry's readership in Jamison Valley, just transplanted lakeside, with a tighter focus on one family instead of a whole town's rotating cast, which makes it an easy, fast binge for readers who want the connective tissue without a long series commitment.

How to read this series

Publication order: Tattered, Timid, Tragic, Tinsel, Timeless. The first three books follow siblings from the same family and were all released in 2018, so they read almost like one continuous family saga even though each is a standalone romance. Tinsel followed in 2019, and Timeless arrived as a later addition in 2022, three years after the rest of the series wrapped, functioning as a reunion-style coda rather than a planned fifth entry from the start.

No cliffhangers carry between books, so you can technically pick up any entry on its own, but reading Tattered through Tinsel in order gives the fullest picture of the Kendrick family before Timeless revisits them.
