Mrs. Miracle follows an unconventional housekeeper-slash-guardian-angel figure who shows up in the lives of struggling single parents and widowers at exactly the right moment, nudging them toward love and reminding them what actually matters at Christmas. Debbie Macomber introduced the character in 1996 as a standalone holiday novel, then returned to her periodically over more than two decades, each book finding Mrs. Miracle newly assigned to a different family in need of gentle supernatural intervention.

The character's warm, no-nonsense competence and just-slightly-magical knowingness made her one of Macomber's most enduring holiday creations, eventually leading to Hallmark Channel movie adaptations starring Doris Roberts as Mrs. Miracle -- Call Me Mrs. Miracle and Mr. Miracle both became Hallmark films, cementing the character as a fixture of the network's Christmas programming alongside Macomber's other adaptations.

Like Macomber's Angels Everywhere series, Mrs. Miracle blends her small-scale relationship storytelling with an explicitly supernatural helper figure, though here it's centered on a single recurring character rather than a trio, and consistently tied to the Christmas season across all four books.
