About the Treasure State Wildcats series

Treasure State Wildcats is Devney Perry's college sports romance series, set around the football and volleyball programs at the fictional Treasure State University in Montana. Coach opens the series with the new head coach of the Wildcats and a forbidden pull toward someone connected to the program he's not supposed to want, establishing the workplace-adjacent tension that runs through the series: coaches, players, and the people around them falling for exactly the person they're supposed to keep a professional distance from.

Blitz follows with an age-gap, forbidden romance between a coach and a volleyball player, pushing further into taboo territory than the small-town contemporary romance Perry is best known for, and Rally centers the team's quarterback. Merit, the most recent entry, follows a football star through a fake-dating plot. The series keeps Perry's trademark banter and emotional payoff but leans harder into tropes, forbidden romance, age gap, fake dating, that are core to the New Adult sports romance space she was expanding into with this series.

Four books have been released since the series launched in 2023, roughly one a year, with no fifth entry confirmed as of this writing.

How to read this series

Publication order: Coach, Blitz, Rally, Merit. Each book follows a different couple connected to the Treasure State Wildcats athletic program, and while they can be read as standalones, the campus setting and recurring side characters carry across the series, so publication order is the natural default. The books released roughly a year apart between 2023 and 2025.
