The Warriors Super Edition series by Erin Hunter has 19 books and is best read in publication order, starting with Firestar's Quest (2007). The next book, Darktail's Judgment, is due 8 September 2026.
Start here: Firestar's Quest (2007) — then read straight through in publication order.

The order the books were released — the default way to read the series.
Alongside the numbered Warriors arcs, HarperCollins publishes a parallel line of longer, single-cat biographies called Super Editions. Where a main-arc book follows a rotating viewpoint through six-book story cycles, each Super Edition steps outside the ongoing plot entirely to tell one named cat's whole arc in a single oversized volume -- Bluestar's rise from a loyal ThunderClan warrior to a leader worn down by grief and paranoia, Yellowfang's exile from ShadowClan and long road to becoming Firestar's mentor, Crookedstar's guilt over a childhood accident that shapes his entire leadership of RiverClan.
Because each volume is a self-contained life story rather than a slice of an ongoing plot, Super Editions work as a way into Warriors' history for readers who already know the Clans from the main arcs but want the fuller picture behind a name they've only seen from the outside -- what Bluestar was like before grief hollowed her out, or how Tigerheart earned the loyalty (and suspicion) that follows him into later arcs. They also reward long-time readers by filling in generations of backstory: kittypet origins, Clan-founding legends, and the private histories of leaders whose public deeds are all the main arcs ever had room to show.
Running since 2007 and still active alongside the current Changing Skies arc, Super Editions have become one of the steadiest side-currents in the Warriors publishing schedule, with a new volume arriving roughly once a year even as the numbered arcs move on to new casts.
Super Editions can be read in any order and require no particular arc to be finished first -- each one is a standalone biography of a single cat, though a few (like Bluestar's Prophecy and Yellowfang's Secret) are richer if you've already met that cat's older self in the main arcs they precede chronologically. Publication order, used here, roughly follows when each featured cat became relevant to the ongoing story, so it doubles as a reasonable reading order if you'd rather not choose.
This entry covers only the numbered Super Edition line. It does not include the shorter Warriors novella collections (The Untold Stories, Tales from the Clans, and others), which are tracked separately, or the field guides and manga volumes, which sit outside both lines entirely.
18 have been published as of August 2026, from Firestar's Quest (2007) through StormClan's Folly (2025). A 19th, Darktail's Judgment, is scheduled for September 8, 2026.
Any order works, since each is a standalone biography of a single cat. Publication order, used here, is a reasonable default if you don't have a preference.
Not strictly, but Super Editions are written for readers who already know the Clans -- they fill in backstory for cats introduced in the main arcs rather than standing entirely apart from that world.
Super Editions are longer, standalone biographies following one named cat's full arc, published outside the numbered six-book story cycles that make up the main series.
No -- it's ongoing, with a new volume published almost every year since 2007. Darktail's Judgment is scheduled for September 2026.
